Chapter 7 - Bankruptcy

I practice Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, which is called consumer bankruptcy.

You can literally stop harassing phone calls and nasty letters within just a few days after you file the bankruptcy. All bankruptcies are preformed in the Yuma U.S. District Court. The last court event is a "Creditors Meeting." At the meeting, the Trustee will make sure you understand the information contained in your Petition for Bankruptcy accurately reflects your income and assets.

Once the debts are discharged, you never have to pay back the creditors. You can start with a clean slate. Under new rules you are required to enroll in a pre bankruptcy and post bankruptcy class, to help you prevent having to file a bankruptcy in the future.

Every debtor has to pass the means test, before they can file for a Chapter 7 which is based on income and household size. Generally speaking if you earn less than $6,575.00 a month,, You will most likely pass the means test. You can earn more if you have more dependants.
